Today has been an absolute beauty! I walked this morning and it was quite cool but soon warmed up. I worked in the yard and got some of my dreaded chores finished. These roses are from my front rose garden. They are simply beautiful. The bushes are quite ugly and bear but they produce flowers all year long. What kind of rose bushes are they, you ask? I have know idea, I’m not like Martha Stewart I don’t label my garden flowers. They came form Wal Mart and all where under 5.00. I’m in the middle of making a special dinner for my son Aaron; he is going to be 18 tomorrow. We are having his favorite foods tonight.

T-bone stakes

baked potatoes with all the trimmings

fresh spinach with bacon

and cooked carrots

The cake is Lemon Pound Cake with lemon glaze {Made by Grandma Kaluza} yum yum. I’ll post pictures of the dinner later.

Afternoon Delight

At 43 years old this is what I call an afternoon delight! NO DIRTY DISHES!!
This feeling of joy when standing over a clean sink is just about as temporary as the afternoon delight I use to expanse { occasionally} when I was in my thirties, if you know what I mean. It’s good while it last but it's over much too soon.

Saturday Shopping

All Stocked UP!

All Stocked Up!!

Donnie and I made a trip to the grocery store today to stock up on grubs. It was getting pretty bad; the only can good left in the pantry was refried beans and a few other lonely condiments. I love a full pantry!! Donnie put on a pot of homemade chicken soup for dinner. I love a man that cooks even more than a full pantry!!

Nice!!
Hope ya'll have a wounderful Sunday.

My Special SisterI served the cake, you poured the tea, we built a house under the tree. In grown up clothes we played all parts, secrets told, we crossed our hearts. Through all the years, the smiles and tears, first true loves and football cheers. I've never found a friend so true, I'll love you Sis my whole life through.
Happy Birthday Anna

Hi Everybody
The Friday girls where out on adventure today. Our first stop was the bank of course and from there Kim and I headed for a big sale in Swiss Alp Hall. Kim found a couple of vintage aprons however I wasn’t as lucky. From there we headed for La Grange. Second Chance, here we come. This is a regular stop on Friday mornings and on most occasions we are all lucky to find a few treasures. Today I found some red toile pjs for me and the rest of the treasures will be sold at the tag sale. Our next stop was an estate sale on Old Lockheart road, after diving for what seemed like eternity we finally found the place and it turned out to be a pretty good sale I found a box full of goodies. I’ll have to post them tomorrow because I ran out of time for pictures today. The highlight of our mission today was LUNCH at our favorite little place Bistros in LaGrange. All in all the day was simply wonderful with the exception of missing one of the team. Tamaira {my mom} was at the pumpkin patch with the grandchildren today. I guess sweet little grandchildren should come before junketeering.

Hello to everyone
My mother was a dear and drove me into the city for my doctor’s appointment. No I’m not sick; it was the dreaded yearly exam. We left early and got their early. I love my doctor he is a very nice and funny older man that has a way of making you feel comfortable. Well as comfortable as you can be under the circumstances. I got a good review and I’m all good for another year. However I have to schedule a mammogram sometime this month.

My mother and I ate lunch and headed straight for home on a count of we are trying to stay away for shopping until December. The little restaurant we ate at was OK but our waiter was very nice. My mother made friends with our waiter because their shirts where almost the same color. My mother can make friends with anyone for any reason; she’s just a very friendly person.

I’m almost embarrassed to say this but I’m 43 years old and I still like having my mother go to the doctor with me. We talk and sang with the radio and mostly laugh the whole trip. It goes by so fast and she always gets my lunch. I am so thankful that I have my mother as my best friend and pray we can spend many many more years together.

He Cooks

Let me introduce you to my wonderful husband Donnie. After a long day at work and an even longer commute home he baked a delicious batch of pig in the blankets. Donnie is my hero; there isn’t anything he can’t do. Will maybe wash dishes, he doesn’t do dishes but I’m not complaining HE COOKS.

Hello Fall

It's a beautiful fall day with a cool breeze and bright sun shine. All the windows are open and the air almost smells sweet.

Tag Sale

I am getting the beauty salon ready for a shabby chic/Paris flea market style tag sale. The sale is planned for the first weekend of December.

October 22

This is my first try at blogging and I'm very nervous about it, mainly because I have been reading beautiful blogs for years and never thought I could do this myself. I cant wait to make friends with other people that share the same interest as myself. I am a homemaker along with many other responsibility's that come with being a stay at home Mom.
