I've Been Tagged

I have been tagged!!
Thank you Lisa at - A Thing for Roses
I’ve never done this before so I hope I’m doing right.
I don’t even have six friends yet

1. I’m a Momma’s girl. My best friend is my Mom, we talk everyday on the phone and shop and do lunch every Friday. It wasn’t always this way. While growing up we had our differences and growing pains. My Mom is the funniest person I know and is filled with good advice.
2. I’ve been married to my high school sweet heart for 24 years. I met Donnie at the Fayette County Fair on my 15th birthday. He looks a little like Rod Stewart and of course being a child of the 70’s and 80’s I was crazy for Rod. I stocked him for a couple of hours before I got the nerve to ask him to dance. We’ve been dancing every scene.
3. One of the most memorable moments of my life is when I swam with the Dolphins in Mexico. I wished I was a mermaid.
4. I have a passion for purse. I own about 40 handbags at the moment. I just sold about 25 purses at a garage sale last month.
5. Procrastination is my middle name. I’ll clean out a closet just to avoid doing the bills.
6. I’m tolled that I run stop signs. I don’t think you should have to set at a stop sign if no one is coming.
So there I did it. I hope to find more blogger friends soon.

Thank Gods It’s Friday

Tamaria, Kim and I hit the sales early and came out a winner today. We found a few garage sales and made our regular stop at Second Chance. We ate lunch at a quant little café in Fayetteville. We actually took time to take some pictures and play around with the cameras. By the look of these photos you can tell we are not use to posing for pictures, we are usually the ones taking them.

School Sprite

Picture in your mind some of the best moments of your life!
Hanging out with friends from school, playing your favorite sport, doing the things you love...drama, shop, band, and more.
Our school spirit ties all these things together. Friends we make in school sometimes last for ever and more often then not, grow their separate ways.
However at Scared Heart Catholic School, friends are family.
At the football game last night, Aaron and his friends showed the school sprite by painting
themself blue to support their class mates on the field.

At The School Gate
By Paul Mc Cann
There is a weekday ritual to which I can relate. The primary school at three o’clock , waiting at the gate. The who's who and the what's new of our small community,as children come out from school inhibitedly free .They are looking for a face,to be there it is great .As all the Mums and Dads stand there ,I join them at the gate .I reach out with both my arms to greet my little son .We walk to where the car is parked ,before the buses come .As it happens once again ,school has finished for the day .The children have learnt their lessons ,teachers have earned their pay .As time goes by my son will grow ,and I shall leave the gate .For he will make his own way home ,to where I'll sit and wait .

Good news and Bad news….
First the good news. Aaron is a senior this year and will be going off to college in less than 7 months. He is really enjoying his last year of high school, hanging out with his friends and finishing up the high school credits. He works part time at Wal Mart making just enough money to put a little gas in the old Toyota. He is planning for the SAT Test and Applying for TSTC. There are so many wonderful activities to be involved in this year. Some of the big ones are Prom, Dances, Parties and of course Graduation. I’m ready for all of this to take place in my life as will. I think Aaron is in for a wonderful year and I’m very happy for him.
I have two sons stilling living at home, Aaron 18 years old and Calum 16 years old. Josh is my oldist son, he lives in Austin and is doing very well for himself.
Calum is the classic youngest child. He is my baby and will always be. He is a sophomore in high school and doing very will. We have been interviewing schools in Austin for next year when we move. He is eagerly awaiting the move. He shared with me that he will be sooo glad when he can go to the movies and chose between more than one movie to watch or see a move that hasn’t come out on DVD yet. We live in a very small town where we are the last to get the latest of anything. The other day Calum received in the mail an opportunity to apply to TAMS.

He was extremely interested. We spoke to a college councilor today about what it is he needs to do to prepare for the entrance exam.
I want the best for my boys and what ever it takes to help them become what God has planned for them in life. BUT! This is my baby. This school is a boarding school and he can only come home once a month. I have no doubt that Calum can do this but I don’t know if I can do this.
I thought I had two more years before I became an empty nester. Some Moms would be jumping for joy, NOT ME.
The last 25 years, I have been a devoted wife and mother. I truly enjoy what I do. I may complain now and then about the never ending laundry and what to make for supper or asking how can I be in two places at once? But it is what I am really good at. I will really have to give this one to God because I want to hold on to my baby at all costs. If God opens this door for Calum I will be there to help him pack and I’ll be the first to be waiting for him to come home. But let me tell you, I won’t be disappointed if he decides not to go.
Oh I guess there isn’t any bad news. All is good.
Hope you are as blessed as I am
